सफलता का मंत्र

This particular column is very hazardous and read at your own risk. I will not be responsible in any way, whatsoever, if you are having a thought to kill me after going through this
Success-- I have found it one of the most abstract of all abstract nouns encountered. Who should be hailed as successful or rather in another words what feat would one term as Success?
I don't have an answer to that. And I am sure there are many more like me who wouldn't be in a position to answer this. To decide one's success depends less on what somebody else think about it, but depends more on one's own individuality. It is a general buzz that you should be an MBA to be successful, should be getting good scores in GMAT and GRE, if not these thigs, should be at least spending a good time at onsite etc..etc.. etc...Are these really necessary and many others to get a susccessful tag and that too from someone who himself doesn't know what do you actually wanna acheive??????You may be hailed great by someone and may not be in good books of other. It all depends upon perception two different persons are having about you. But, a lot depends upon what goals have you set for yourself. And mind it!!! goals can't be quantified. Lets set the action points(Sounding like manager.. :-) )

1.You should be able to recognize yourself.(Recognizing oneself means one should be aware of limitations and potentials)
2.At least someone else (if not 100%, but still to a good extent), should be able to know your potentials and limits.
3.This one is tough but necessary. You should be able to choose the person(s) in 2nd clause. This choice is very important and only you can make it as you are the best judge of yourself so you should be knowing who could judge you best.
4.Based on X(your potentials) and Y (your limitations), you should set yourself some goal(say G) within a specified period of time(say T).
5.Now, calculation is pretty simple. If you have been able to fulfill G within T; given the fact that both you and other chosen person(s) are satisfied with that G, then, in my opinion you are successful.
6.There is another factor , luck (say L) , which would make it either easy or tough to have accomplished G within T. But, then you can't blame L completely for everything.

It can happen that you couldn't complete G1 within T1, G2 within T2,....Gn-1 within Tn-1 and it was all due to L. But, if you really have made all the other calcualtions(X and Y) right and learnt from previous Gn-1; then Gn must be accomplished within Tn and L would favor you in that case. Still, if n is approaching very high, then, its high time you should introspect yourself.

Again, this is a very basic quantification of the things, but not always true in all the cases. I tried it myself and have been benefitted a bit only but still not fully; on the course of introspecting myself. Lets see if it works for any of you.

Signing Off,
Krish
