To start with, please go through this if you like watching meaningful cinemas. Its not for those who like normal masala flicks with action, comedy and romance.
I watched this movie around 4 months back, but looks like it was just yesterday. The movie has been set during World War II. The subject is the same old tortures against Jews but have been depicted in a very different way. In fact, it has been adapted from the best selling book with the same title.
Story is about a eight year old boy named Bruno whose father is a Nazi soldier and the family is transferred to countryside near to a Nazi concentration camp. Far away from his frens in Berlin, he doesn't like this place at all and in spite of several warnings; wanders in the forest. And in that process befriends another 8 yrs old boy in striped Pyjama ,a Jew named Shmuel. They play chekkers across the fence which divides Jews slave and Nazis. Bruno comes to know about the atrocity carried out against Jews and he decides to help Shmuel. He dresses himself in stipped pyjamas and finally what happens is something which you should watch for yourself.
In all, its a brave and heart scorching movie. As the tagline says its A timeless story of innocence lost and humanity found. The climax of the movie left the complete theatre stunned and speechless. And your heart would automatically go out for the boy. I couldn't help myself shedding out a few drops in the end. After the movie ended, I could get up from my seat after 2-3 mins only. If you really like thoughtful but disturbing dramas, don't wait and watch this movie. You would not be disppointed. Highly recommended.....

I really cried in the scene when Bruno lies that he did not ask Schmuel to eat the pasties. And the final scene, I still feel the silence that engulfed the theatre.
